Job Purpose
The Housekeeping Executive is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department by ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and guest comfort throughout the property. The role involves supervising housekeeping associates, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, back\-of\-house areas, and staff facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Coordinate room status updates with the Front Office Department to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures.
- Monitor and maintain housekeeping inventories, supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Follow up on maintenance issues and coordinate with the Engineering Department for timely resolution.
- Ensure all lost\-and\-found procedures are followed as per company policy.
Team Management
- Supervise and guide housekeeping associates in their daily tasks.
- Conduct on\-the\-job training for new associates and support continuous skill development.
- Prepare duty rosters and allocate work assignments effectively.
- Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster teamwork and maintain discipline within the department.
Guest Service
- Ensure prompt response to guest requests, complaints, and special requirements.
- Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction through attention to detail and service excellence.
- Coordinate room preparations for VIP guests and special occasions.
Quality, Hygiene \& Safety
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping SOPs, hygiene standards, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Promote safe work practices and proper use of PPE among associates.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain departmental records, checklists, and reports.
- Assist in inventory management, stock verification, and cost control initiatives.
- Prepare daily housekeeping reports and occupancy\-related updates.
- Support departmental budgeting and expense monitoring activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in Housekeeping Operations within hotels, resorts, or hospitality establishments.
- 2 or more years supervisory experience preferred.
Skills \& Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Good organizational and problem\-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and hotel management systems is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
