- *Company:** Karma Global (karmacpa.com \| karmags.com)
- *Location:** Surat, Gujarat (On\-site)
- *Reports to:** Founders / Leadership Team
- *Experience:** 6–10 years in HR, with at least 3 years in an HRBP or generalist leadership role **Team Size Supported:** \~150 employees across bookkeeping, real estate accounting, income \& asset verification, and back\-office operations
Karma Global is a fast\-growing accounting and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm based in Surat, serving US\-based CPA firms, real estate operators, and lenders. With \~150 team members, a US subsidiary, and \~50% year\-on\-year revenue growth, we are scaling our people function to match our business ambitions. We believe in enjoying the work we do while building careers our people are proud of.
The HRBP will act as a strategic partner to leadership and a trusted advisor to delivery teams — owning the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit, with a sharp focus on **retention, performance, and culture** in a high\-growth, US\-shift\-aligned environment. This is not a transactional HR\-admin role; it is a business\-embedded role where people decisions directly impact client delivery and margins.
1\. Talent Retention \& Engagement
- Own attrition analysis: identify patterns by team, tenure, manager, and shift; present quarterly retention insights to leadership with corrective actions.
- Design and run stay interviews, exit interviews, and pulse surveys; convert findings into actionable interventions.
- Build engagement calendars, recognition programs, and career\-path visibility for high performers.
2\. Performance Management
- Implement and run a structured performance review cycle (goal\-setting, mid\-year check\-ins, annual appraisals) aligned to billing and utilization metrics.
- Coach team leads and managers on giving feedback, managing underperformance, and documenting PIPs fairly.
- Support compensation review cycles with market benchmarking inputs and internal parity analysis.
3\. Talent Acquisition Partnership
- Partner with hiring managers on workforce planning across verticals (bookkeeping, IAV, real estate accounting).
- Strengthen screening and assessment quality — structured interviews, skills tests, and retention\-predictive evaluation.
- Own employer branding for Surat/Gujarat talent market positioning against larger KPO competitors.
4\. HR Operations \& Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian labour laws — Shops \& Establishments Act, Maternity Benefit Act (including crèche obligations at 50\+ headcount), PF/ESI, gratuity, and the Code on Social Security.
- Maintain clean HRIS data, letters, policies, and audit\-ready documentation.
- Manage payroll inputs, leave administration, and grievance handling with confidentiality and fairness.
5\. Manager Enablement \& Culture
- Coach first\-time managers and team leads — the single biggest lever for retention in a delivery organization.
- Champion company values and translate them into day\-to\-day behaviours, especially around ownership, client\-first thinking, and integrity.
- Support change management during growth phases (restructuring, new verticals, policy rollouts).
- *Must\-Have Qualifications:**
- 6–10 years of progressive HR experience; minimum 3 years in an HRBP/generalist lead capacity.
- Prior experience in **KPO/BPO, IT/ITES, or professional services** with US/UK shift environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in reducing attrition or improving engagement metrics (be ready to show numbers).
- Working knowledge of Gujarat\-applicable labour compliance.
- Strong data orientation — comfortable with Excel/HR analytics, attrition dashboards, and comp benchmarking.
- Excellent written and spoken English; comfort interfacing with US\-aligned teams and schedules.
- MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent.
- Experience scaling HR in a 100–300 person company (founder\-led environments a plus).
- Exposure to HRMS implementation and process automation.
- *What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months):**
- Voluntary attrition reduced measurably with a documented retention playbook.
- Performance review cycle running on time with \>90% completion and calibrated ratings.
- Manager capability program launched for all team leads.
- Compliance audit\-ready at all times; zero statutory lapses.
- High\-ownership role reporting directly to founders — your work shapes the company, not just a department.
- A profitable, growing firm investing seriously in people, technology, and AI\-assisted workflows.
- Surat\-based stability with global (US) exposure.
- *To apply:** Send your CV with a short note on one retention or performance initiative you personally led and its measurable outcome.
