About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Insurance Consultant based out of our India office to support clients across the UK and European markets. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Speciaty \& Commercial Insurance solutions including Newgen’s Clause and Wording Management solutions for specialty and commercial insurers, act as a Product Manager for Guidewire ECM (Enterprise Content Management) and CCM (Customer Communications Management) connectors, and provide hands\-on support to project delivery teams across the full solution lifecycle.The role also includes supporting region in demos and POCs for acquring new customers.
This is a high\-impact, client\-facing role requiring domain expertise in insurance operations, strong technology acumen, and the ability to work effectively across time zones with global stakeholders. The person is expected to often travel onsite for short and long term assignments.
Key Responsibilities
1\. SME – Clause \& Wording Management
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for policy clause libraries, endorsement management, and wording governance frameworks for specialty and commercial lines insurers.
Advise clients on best practices for clause lifecycle management, version control, regulatory compliance, and template standardisation across London Market and European regulatory frameworks.
Support the design and implementation of clause and wording management solutions, ensuring alignment with Lloyd's and company market standards.
Engage with underwriting, legal, and compliance teams at client organisations to capture wording requirements and translate them into system\-ready specifications.
Keep abreast of market developments including LMA, IUA, and ACORD standards relevant to clause and wording management.
2\. Product Management – Guidewire ECM \& CCM Connectors
Own the product roadmap, feature backlog, and release planning for Guidewire ECM and CCM connector products.
Define and prioritise product requirements in collaboration with engineering, QA, and client stakeholders, translating business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Coordinate with the Guidewire practice and third\-party integration teams to ensure connectors meet functional, performance, and compliance requirements.
Manage the product lifecycle from ideation through delivery, including go\-to\-market support, documentation, and client onboarding materials.
Track competitive landscape and emerging trends in insurance document management and communications technology to inform product direction.
Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to resolve product ambiguity and drive decision\-making.
3\. Requirements Analysis \& Solution Architecture Support
Lead and facilitate detailed requirements workshops with client business and IT stakeholders across UK and European time zones.
Produce high\-quality business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data mapping artefacts.
Collaborate with solution architects to design end\-to\-end solutions for policy administration, document management, and customer communication workflows on Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter platforms.
Conduct gap analysis between client's current\-state processes and target\-state solution capabilities.
Support UAT planning, test case reviews, and defect triage from a business requirements perspective.
4\. Client Engagement \& Delivery Support
Act as a trusted advisor to UK and European insurer clients, building long\-term relationships grounded in deep domain knowledge.
Present solution recommendations, demos, and business cases to senior stakeholders including CTO, COO, and Head of Underwriting audiences.
Contribute to pre\-sales activities including RFP/RFI responses, solution scoping, effort estimation, and proposal development.
Mentor junior consultants and business analysts on insurance domain concepts and best practices.
Required Skills \& Experience
Domain Expertise
8\+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on specialty and/or commercial lines (property, casualty, marine, aviation, energy, or financial lines).
Demonstrated expertise in policy clause and wording management, including endorsement authoring, clause library design, and regulatory compliance.
Solid understanding of Specialty and P\&C Insurance, and/or European insurance regulatory frameworks
Experience with policy administration systems, document management platforms, or customer communication management tools in an insurance context.
Technology Skills
Hands\-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter) as a business analyst, consultant, or product manager.
Exposure to Guidewire ECM (Enterprise Content Management) and/or CCM (Customer Communications Management) integrations is highly desirable.
Familiarity with insurance technology platforms such as Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar is an advantage.
Proficiency in requirements tools (JIRA, Confluence, DevOps) and process modelling (BPMN, UML, Visio).
Working knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, and data exchange formats (XML, JSON, ACORD) relevant to insurance systems.
Product Management
Experience in a product owner or product manager role within an insurance technology environment, will be an added advantage
Strong ability to write and maintain product backlogs, roadmaps, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Experience facilitating sprint ceremonies, stakeholder reviews, and cross\-functional alignment sessions in an Agile/SAFe delivery model.
Soft Skills \& Other Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working directly with senior client stakeholders in the UK and/or Europe.
Self\-driven and comfortable operating independently in a remote, offshore\-support model across time zones.
Collaborative team player with a consulting mindset and a client\-first attitude.
Willingness to travel to UK/Europe as required (typically 2–4 times per year).
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Guidewire certifications (ACE – PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter) are a strong advantage.
Agile/Scrum knowledge / certifications (CSPO, CSM, SAFe PO/PM) are preferred.
