At Envirolab, we believe that great design and environmental performance are inseparable. As a Junior Architect within our ESD team, you will blend your creative architectural training with sustainable engineering principles. This entry\-level role is perfect for a passionate architecture graduate who wants to look beyond aesthetics and focus on how buildings perform.
- Construct detailed 2D and 3D thermal zones from architectural construction drawings using specialized residential energy simulation software.
- Learn to analyze architectural blueprints, construction details, and material schedules for residential projects.
- Translate 2D architectural drawings into specialized residential energy simulation software to create accurate thermal models.
- Work under the guidance of senior assessors to test different combinations of insulation (R\-values), building materials, and glass types (U\-values).
- Learn how to run iterative software simulations to see how minor changes, like adding an eave or tweaking a window size, can boost a home's overall thermal comfort and star rating.
- Study the impacts of orientation, shading, and local climate data on a building's heating and cooling loads.
- Help compile material take\-offs, window schedules, and technical data sheets.
- Assist in drafting clear compliance reports and certification paperwork required for building approvals.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation as design changes occur.
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch), Architectural Technology, or a closely related built\-environment discipline. ( Recent graduates and freshers are highly encouraged to apply!)
- *Soft Skills \& Attributes:**
- **Methodical \& Precise:** High attention to detail; a single wrong material entry can alter a simulation outcome.
- **Problem\-Solving Mindset:** Ability to treat a design as a puzzle, iterating material configurations until performance targets are met.
- **Blueprint Literacy:** The ability to confidently read and interpret architectural plans, sections, and construction details.
- **Basic Software Skills:** Familiarity with standard drafting tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or ArchiCAD.
- **Foundational Knowledge:** A basic understanding of passive design principles (e.g., how insulation works, shading, and orientation). Prefered but not mandatory.
- *What Envirolab Offers You:**
- **Comprehensive Training:** We don't expect you to know our energy modeling software on day one. We provide structured, step\-by\-step mentorship.
- **A Specialized Career Path:** Step into a rapidly growing niche within the architectural world that bridges design and sustainability engineering.
- **A Supportive Environment:** Work alongside a collaborative team that values fresh ideas, questions, and professional growth.
If you are a detailed\-oriented graduate who wants to use your architectural background to make a real\-world environmental impact, we would love to hear from you. At Envirolab, we expect you to have a curious mind, a passion for green design, and an eagerness to learn.
