Position Summary
The Lab Incharge is responsible for managing and supervising all laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic services, maintaining quality standards, and overseeing laboratory staff. In a fully AI\-enabled and paperless hospital environment, the Lab Incharge will ensure seamless integration of laboratory processes with the Hospital Information System (HIS), Laboratory Information System (LIS), AI\-driven diagnostic tools, and digital workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Operations Management
- Oversee day\-to\-day operations of the clinical laboratory.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting of laboratory investigations.
- Monitor sample collection, processing, analysis, reporting, and storage procedures.
- Ensure uninterrupted laboratory services on a 24x7 basis.
- Coordinate with clinical departments for efficient patient care.
AI \& Digital Workflow Management
- Ensure effective utilization of AI\-enabled laboratory systems and automated analyzers.
- Monitor integration between LIS, HIS, EMR, and AI diagnostic platforms.
- Validate AI\-generated alerts, trends, and diagnostic recommendations as per established protocols.
- Ensure all laboratory records, reports, and quality documents are maintained digitally.
- Support continuous improvement of digital and paperless laboratory workflows.
Quality Assurance \& Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH, NABL, Biomedical Waste Management Rules, and other statutory requirements.
- Implement Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assurance Programs (EQAS).
- Conduct regular audits and corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain laboratory SOPs and quality manuals in digital format.
- Ensure equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance schedules are followed.
Team Management
- Supervise Lab Technicians, Phlebotomists, and Laboratory Support Staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage manpower allocation.
- Conduct training programs on laboratory procedures, quality standards, and AI\-based systems.
- Evaluate staff performance and identify development needs.
Inventory \& Equipment Management
- Monitor laboratory consumables, reagents, and inventory levels.
- Ensure timely procurement and stock management.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for laboratory equipment.
- Minimize wastage and optimize resource utilization.
Patient Safety \& Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
- Monitor critical value reporting and escalation procedures.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and data security in all digital systems.
- Investigate laboratory incidents and implement corrective actions.
Reporting \& Documentation
- Generate and review laboratory performance reports and KPIs.
- Maintain digital records of quality indicators, audits, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
- Submit monthly operational reports to hospital management.

- Laboratory report turnaround time (TAT).
- Sample rejection rate.
- Quality control compliance rate.
- Critical value reporting compliance.
- Equipment uptime percentage.
- Inventory stock\-out incidents.
- NABH/NABL audit compliance score.

QualificationsEducation
- B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / BMLT (Mandatory)
- M.Sc. MLT / Relevant Postgraduate Qualification (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of laboratory experience.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in NABH/NABL\-accredited hospitals preferred.
- Experience with AI\-enabled laboratory systems, LIS, and paperless healthcare environments preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000\.00 \- ₹60,000\.00 per month
