Manager – Met Coke (Techno-Commercial & Operations)

• *Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly experienced and result\-oriented professional for the role of General Manager Met Coke. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing metallurgical coke (Met Coke) projects, with strong expertise across techno\-commercial functions, operations, and the coke production (extraction) process. This leadership role requires the ability to drive business growth, manage multiple projects, and ensure operational excellence.

• *Key Responsibilities:**

• *1\. New Business Development**

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in Met Coke production and related projects.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
• Conduct market analysis and support strategic expansion initiatives.
• Participate in pre\-bid meetings, technical discussions, and site assessments.

• *2\. Tendering \& Bidding**

• Lead the complete tendering and bidding lifecycle for Met Coke projects.
• Review and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and commercial terms.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to prepare competitive bids.
• Ensure compliance with all technical and commercial requirements during submissions.

• *3\. Costing \& Commercial Management**

• Develop detailed cost estimates, project budgets, and pricing strategies.
• Evaluate project feasibility, profitability, and associated risks.
• Lead techno\-commercial negotiations with clients and vendors.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring margin optimization and financial discipline.

• *4\. Operations \& Project Management**

• Oversee end\-to\-end operations of Met Coke plants and projects.
• Ensure smooth execution of multiple projects within timelines and quality standards.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with cross\-functional teams for seamless project delivery.

• *5\. Met Coke Production \& Technical Expertise**

• Provide deep technical oversight of the entire Met Coke production process, including coal selection, carbonization, and coke handling.
• Ensure optimal plant performance, yield, and quality of coke output.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement best practices in coke production.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.

• *6\. Supply Chain \& Inventory Management**

• Oversee procurement planning, vendor management, and logistics for raw materials and spare parts.
• Ensure effective inventory control and availability of critical spares.
• Optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

• *7\. Leadership \& Team Management**

• Lead, mentor, and develop high\-performing teams across operations and projects.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with business objectives.

• *Key Requirements:**

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in managing Met Coke projects and plant operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of the complete Met Coke production process.
• Proven experience in bidding, tendering, costing, and techno\-commercial negotiations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
