• *About the role**

We are hiring a Manager – Product Design \& Development to own our products from concept to commercial launch. You will turn market needs into products that are technically feasible, manufacturable and commercially viable, and lead the design team that builds them.

This is a senior, hands\-on role. You will set the NPD roadmap and timelines, approve designs and prototypes, and still be close enough to the CAD, tooling and testing to make the right technical calls.

• *Key responsibilities**

. Product design \& engineering

. Design new products and define their product architecture.

. Lead redesign, standardization and design\-optimization projects across the existing range.

• *CAD \& engineering documentation**

. Create and own 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and component, manufacturing and vendor drawings.

. Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).

. Run design revision control so every team works from the current drawing.

• *New product development (NPD)**

. Plan NPD projects and set their timelines.

. Run feasibility reviews and stage\-gate development reviews.

. Monitor development progress and approve prototypes.

• *Tooling \& fixture design**

. Design dies, core boxes, jigs and fixtures.

. Review new tooling and tool modifications.

. Lead initiatives to improve tool life.

• *Prototyping \& design validation**

• *.** Plan, approve and test prototypes, including flow, high\-pressure and visual testing.

. Deliver prototypes within 2 days in\-house and 5 days when outsourced.

. Verify designs, review product performance and reliability, and give final design approval.

• *Market \& competitor insight**

. Benchmark competitor products and track market and technology trends.

. Visit exhibitions and identify opportunities for product innovation.

• *Vendor development**

. Approve vendor drawings and give vendors technical support and clarifications.

. Support child\-part development and alternate\-source development.

• *Cross\-functional coordination**

. Bring marketing feedback into product design.

. Work closely with production, tool room, purchase, quality and vendors.

• *Team leadership**

. Lead and mentor the design and development team.

. Review design quality and development progress, and plan resources.

. Make sure NPD timelines are met.

• *What you will own** : product design, product engineering, CAD, tool design, product validation, innovation, competitor benchmarking and NPD governance. Your key outputs are product designs, CAD models, engineering drawings, tool designs, design approvals and new product innovations.

• *What you need**

. B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

. 8–12 years in product design and development, with at least 3 years leading a design team or NPD projects.

. Expert in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo or similar) and AutoCAD for 2D drawings, assemblies and BOMs.

. Strong working knowledge of GD\&T, tolerance stack\-ups and drawing revision control.

. Hands\-on experience designing dies, core boxes, jigs and fixtures, and of casting and machining processes.

. Experience running prototype and validation tests, including flow and high\-pressure testing.

. A track record of taking products from concept to production on tight timelines.

. Confident working with vendors, production, quality and purchase teams, and presenting to senior leadership.

• *Nice to have**

. Experience with flow\-control products, valves, pumps or pressure components.

. Exposure to simulation tools (FEA or CFD) for design verification.

. Experience setting up NPD stage\-gate processes or design standards from scratch.

. Rapid prototyping experience, such as 3D printing or soft tooling.

. Experience developing alternate vendors and localising child parts.
