Mechanical Design Engineer

• *About the Role:**

We are seeking a Mechanical **Design Engineer** with strong expertise in **plastic product design, injection moulding, and blow moulding systems**. The candidate will be responsible for leading design activities, developing optimized components, and ensuring manufacturability while maintaining high quality and cost efficiency. The role requires independent execution as well as collaboration with cross\-functional teams.

• *Roles \& Responsibilities:**

· Design and develop plastic components and assemblies for injection moulding and blow moulding applications.

· Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).

· Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis.

· Work on mould design concepts, including core\-cavity, cooling channels, and gating systems.

· Conduct tolerance stack\-up analysis (GD\&T) and basic engineering calculations.

· Optimize designs for cost, weight, performance, and manufacturability.

· Modify and update existing designs based on production feedback, trials, and client requirements.

· Collaborate with tool room, production, and quality teams for smooth project execution.

· Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, design reports, and revision records.

· Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company design guidelines.

· Handle multiple projects and ensure timely delivery with high accuracy.

• *Skills:**

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD /Solid Edge/ Autodesk Inventor).
• Understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD\&T and standard drafting practices.
• Good analytical, problem\-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines independently.

• *Qualification \& Experience:**

• **Education:** Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• **Experience:** 5\-8 years in mechanical design (freelance or part\-time experience acceptable).
• **Preferred:** Experience in Plastics, Injection Moulding, Automotive, Blow Moulding
