Job Summary
Scantech Laser Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a technically skilled Mechatronics Engineer to support the design, assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and service of industrial laser processing machines and automation systems.
The candidate will work on Scantech Laser products such as Laser Marking Machines, Laser Cutting Machines, Laser Welding Machines, Laser Cleaning Systems, Laser Drilling Machines, Laser Scribing Systems, Laser Cladding Systems, Laser Hardening Systems, Pharmaceutical Laser Systems, Robotic Systems, and Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
Key Responsibilities
- Work on the integration of mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatic, automation, motion control, and laser system components used in industrial laser machines.
- Support machine assembly, alignment, wiring, testing, trial, and commissioning of laser marking, cutting, welding, cleaning, drilling, scribing, cladding, hardening, robotic, pharmaceutical, and SPM\-based systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to PLC, HMI, servo motors, stepper motors, sensors, drives, controllers, laser source, optics, scan head, galvo system, CNC axis, chiller, power supply, safety interlocks, and machine movement systems.
- Assist in machine trials, laser parameter setting, job testing, calibration, beam alignment, focusing, fixture setting, and final inspection before dispatch.
- Work on customer\-specific automation solutions including conveyors, rotary units, XY tables, robotic integration, pneumatic fixtures, vision systems, and customized machine layouts.
- Support pharmaceutical laser systems used for tablet drilling, laser marking, ink\-free batch coding, vial/bottle marking, and vision\-based inspection systems, as applicable.
- Coordinate with design, production, quality, purchase, software, and service teams to ensure smooth machine manufacturing and timely project completion.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, pneumatic circuits, PLC logic, machine layouts, and technical manuals.
- Visit customer sites for machine installation, commissioning, demonstration, service support, breakdown troubleshooting, and application trials whenever required.
- Maintain proper documentation such as machine checklists, testing reports, service reports, customer trial reports, wiring records, and technical observations.
- Ensure machine safety by checking emergency stop, enclosure safety, laser safety interlocks, earthing, electrical protection, guarding, and operator safety arrangements.
- Support continuous improvement in machine accuracy, cycle time, reliability, automation efficiency, ease of operation, and maintenance\-friendly design.
Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of mechatronics, automation, machine building, electrical wiring, sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and control systems
- Basic knowledge of PLC, HMI, servo drive, stepper motor, VFD, CNC axis control, and industrial controllers
- Understanding of laser machine operation, laser safety, optics, focusing, alignment, and machine calibration
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation\-related problems
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and machine layouts
- Hands\-on knowledge of machine assembly, panel wiring, testing, and commissioning
- Knowledge of robotic systems, conveyors, fixtures, and SPM automation will be preferred
- Basic report preparation and customer coordination skills
