The scope of work includes all pre\-migration, migration, and post\-migration activities required to support the successful deployment and transition of Cisco network infrastructure. Pre\-migration activities involve BOM verification, relocation and unboxing of Cisco devices, DOA checks, asset and hostname labelling, assistance with IOS upgrades and basic device configuration, and racking of equipment where possible prior to the migration window. Migration activities include installing switches in the designated rack positions, labelling and reconnecting patch cords in accordance with customer\-provided port mapping sheets, installing and labelling uplink cables, assisting with troubleshooting where required, removing legacy devices once approved by Cisco, and replacing legacy wireless access points with new Cisco WAPs including the supply and installation of suitable anchors and fixings. Post\-migration activities include boxing and relocating legacy equipment to the designated storage area, as well as completing post\-migration documentation and quality assurance checks.
We are seeking a hands\-on, detail\-oriented Network Migration Engineer to support network infrastructure deployment and migration activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco devices, rack and stack, cabling, and wireless access point installations. This role is critical to ensuring successful network migrations with minimal operational disruption.
· Perform BOM verification and equipment checks prior to deployment
· Rack and stack Cisco network devices in communications rooms or data centres
· Assist with Cisco IOS upgrades and basic device configuration
· Install, label, and reconnect patch cords and uplink cables as per port mapping documentation
· Support migration activities including installation and removal of legacy network devices
· Install and replace Cisco wireless access points (WAPs)
· Assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution during migration activities
· Package and relocate legacy devices after migration completion
· Maintain accurate documentation, labelling, and quality assurance records
· Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and site safety requirements
· 2–4 years of experience in network deployment, migration, or infrastructure support
· Hands\-on experience with Cisco switches and wireless access points
· Experience with rack and stack, structured cabling, and cable labelling
· Basic knowledge of Cisco IOS upgrades and device configuration
· Ability to read and follow network documentation and port mapping sheets
· Strong troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills
· Good attention to detail and documentation skills
· Willingness to work after\-hours or weekend migration windows when required
· Cisco certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or equivalent
· Certifications such as BICSI Installer 1 or 2 (Copper \& Fiber) or Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI)
· Experience supporting enterprise network migration projects
· Knowledge of structured cabling and cable management best practices
· Familiarity with data centre or communications room environments
· Understanding of ESD and hardware handling best practices
