We seek a motivated and detail\-oriented Junior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of network concepts, with hands\-on experience or familiarity with WiFi technologies, Ruckus, Cambium Networks, and MikroTik equipment. This position is perfect for someone with skills between Network\+ and CCNA, looking to grow their career in network engineering.
We are seeking a vigilant and detail\-oriented Junior NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The primary focus of this role is the real\-time monitoring, surveillance, and first\-level triage of our global network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous visibility into network health, detecting anomalies, analyzing infrastructure logs, and executing initial troubleshooting or escalation workflows to maintain maximum uptime and performance across all corporate sites.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- *1\. Real\-Time Network Monitoring \& Event Management**
- Actively monitor global infrastructure health, device availability, and system alerts utilizing the Zabbix monitoring platform.
- Track server health indicators across enterprise environments, including CPU utilization, memory allocation, storage capacity, and hardware status alerts (power supplies, fans, disk arrays).
- Conduct routine health checks and performance monitoring on enterprise Session Border Controllers (SBCs) to ensure voice network resilience.
- Continuously track ISP bandwidth utilization, circuit latency, and jitter; systematically identify and isolate performance degradation or packet loss issues.
- Monitor critical WAN infrastructure, specifically tracking ILL and MPLS connectivity stability and local loop failover events.
- Interpret, reference, and maintain up\-to\-date network diagrams to quickly isolate the root cause of alerts within the topology.
- *2\. Firewall Security Surveillance \& Log Analysis**
- Monitor real\-time traffic flows, active sessions, and high availability (HA) logs on Palo Alto networks or equivalent UTM platforms (Fortinet, Check Point, Sophos).
- Review and interpret granular security logs, including IPsec VPN tunnel logs, Host Information Profile (HIP) data, and firewall block logs to identify connectivity anomalies.
- Verify security rule applications, object entries, and Policy\-Based Forwarding (PBF) behavior during active network routing adjustments or ISP gateway changes.
- *3\. Wireless \& Switching Status Verification**
- Check switch port statuses, verify VLAN allocations, and review device logs across Cisco and Meraki switching environments to diagnose localized link drops.
- Monitor corporate wireless infrastructure via Meraki and Ruckus Wi\-Fi controllers, tracking access point availability and checking client connection logs.
- Assist with routine administrative monitoring tasks, such as verifying MAC address whitelisting, checking guest Wi\-Fi creation status, and tracking AP geographical locations.
- Coordinate with on\-site hands\-on personnel for physical verification of switches, patching, and ISP interface connectivity when remote monitoring indicates hardware faults.
- **Core Monitoring \& Infrastructure**
- Monitoring Tools: Hands\-on experience navigating Zabbix or similar enterprise\-grade monitoring systems (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Datadog) to track threshold alerts and interface errors.
- Network Foundations: Solid understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, VLAN segmentation, and routing concepts necessary to triage network incidents.
- WAN/ISP Surveillance: Familiarity with tracking public/private IP allocations, circuit delivery metrics, and the baseline behaviors of ILL and MPLS circuits.
- **Security \& Log Management**
- UTM Operations: Foundational familiarity with navigating firewall management dashboards (specifically PAN\-OS/Palo Alto) to look up objects and rules.
- Log Analysis: Ability to read, filter, and extract actionable information from system, security, HA, and IPsec logs during an incident investigation.
- *Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or similar discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 to 3 years of network monitoring or network support experience, ideally in a BPO or high\-volume call center environment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Request and Asset Management).
