The Plant Manager will hold complete operational, technical, and strategic ownership of our stabilized, one\-year\-old Aluminum Gravity Die Casting (GDC) facility. This is a pivotal leadership role designed for a deeply technical, floor\-interactive professional who transitions seamlessly between high\-level strategic planning, root\-cause operational execution, and customer\-facing technical engagement.
Rather than managing through administrative delegation, the ideal candidate possesses the engineering credibility to engage directly with shop\-floor realities while demonstrating the techno\-commercial acumen required to foster business growth.
Your primary mandate will be to transition the plant from its stabilization phase into a highly efficient, world\-class manufacturing hub. This includes designing immediate operational optimizations, engineering robust quality frameworks to aggressively lower rejection rates, and formulating long\-term capacity roadmaps. Additionally, you will play a vital role in enabling market expansion by demonstrating our technical capabilities to prospective clients, guiding the plant through stringent customer audits, and helping secure new partnerships with both premier domestic and global Tier\-1 customers.
- *Specific Process Expertise:**Strictly 10\+ years of hardcore manufacturing leadership experience specifically in Aluminum Gravity Die Casting (GDC) is a MUST
Deep knowledge of aluminum metallurgy, permanent mold design, and GDC parameters is an absolute must
- *Leadership Style:** Must be a floor\-first, hands\-on manager who actively works on the shop floor to diagnose issues root\-cause, rather than managing superficially from an office
- *Language Proficiency:** Fluency in Tamil is mandatory for day\-to\-day workforce management. Proficiency in Hindi is a strong plus to effectively manage diverse shop\-floor personnel and seamlessly interface with domestic customers.
- **Floor Leadership \& Efficiency:** Spend significant daily time on the shop floor to monitor processes, optimize cycle times, eliminate operational waste, and maximize productivity.
- **Root\-Cause Rejection Control:** Get onto the foundry floor to trace defects back to the tool, the melt, or the process, implementing permanent technical fixes to aggressively lower rejection rates and PPM.
- **Strategic Roadmap:** Develop and execute realistic short\-term operational fixes alongside a robust long\-term capacity and product diversification blueprint.
- **Business Growth Support:** Partner with executive leadership to engage with prospective clients; showcase the plant’s technical competencies, lead successful customer audits, and ensure operational readiness to absorb and scale new domestic and international business.
- **Workforce Accountability:** Mentor, upskill, and lead a diverse local workforce by example, fostering a disciplined culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen).
- *Qualifications \& Skills**
- **Problem\-Solving Grit:** Proven success in personally diagnosing and fixing complex casting defects, tooling issues, and shop\-floor bottlenecks.
- **Techno\-Commercial Acumen (Big Plus):** Experience interacting with customer engineering/procurement teams, onboarding new components, or helping secure new domestic/export business accounts is highly valued.
- **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or Metallurgy preferred).
- **Executive Presence:** Professional polish and multilingual confidence required to interface seamlessly with corporate, domestic, and global stakeholders.
