The Plant Head will be responsible for the complete management of the conveyor belt manufacturing plant, including production, quality, maintenance, manpower, safety, planning, cost control, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong technical knowledge of rubber processing, conveyor belt production, plant operations, and team leadership
Production \& Operations
- Oversee end\-to\-end conveyor belt manufacturing operations, including mixing, calendaring, fabric treatment, building, vulcanization, trimming, inspection, packing, and dispatch.
Quality Control
- Ensure all belts are manufactured as per customer specifications, internal standards, and applicable standards such as IS, DIN, RMA, ISO, or other required specifications.
- Monitor key quality parameters including adhesion, tensile strength, elongation, abrasion, hardness, cover thickness, ply alignment, belt width, belt length, and visual finish.
- Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure strict process discipline at each stage of production.
Technical \& Process Management
- Maintain control over rubber compounding, mixing parameters, calendaring quality, fabric alignment, belt building, curing cycles, and press operations.
- Review and improve standard operating procedures for all production stages.
- Support development of new grades, special belts, and customized customer requirements.
- Work closely with the technical and quality teams to improve belt performance and consistency.
Maintenance \& Plant Efficiency
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of Banbury/mixing mill, calendaring line, hydraulic presses, boilers, compressors, cranes, trimming machines, and other plant equipment.
- Improve machine uptime and reduce recurring breakdowns.
- Plan machinery upgrades, process improvements, and capacity enhancement where required.
Manpower \& Team Management
- Lead and supervise production managers, shift supervisors, operators, helpers, maintenance staff, and quality staff.
- Ensure proper training, discipline, accountability, and performance monitoring across the plant.
- Build a strong culture of ownership, safety, quality, and timely execution.
- Handle worker\-related issues in coordination with HR and management.
Cost Control \& Productivity
- Control raw material consumption, compound wastage, fabric wastage, energy usage, overtime, and production losses.
- Improve output per shift and reduce manufacturing cost per square meter.
- Monitor key production KPIs such as rejection percentage, rework percentage, machine utilization, downtime, productivity, and delivery adherence.
Safety \& Compliance
- Ensure safe working practices across the plant, especially around presses, calendars, mills, boilers, cranes, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain compliance with factory rules, safety standards, environmental requirements, and internal company policies.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and ensure use of PPE by all workers.
Reporting \& Coordination
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, quality, downtime, rejection, manpower, and dispatch status.
- Report plant performance to the management with clear action plans.
- Coordinate with sales and planning teams for urgent orders, technical specifications, and customer priorities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per customer requirements, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Monitor daily production planning, machine utilization, manpower allocation, and plant productivity.
- Reduce downtime, rejection, rework, wastage, and process inefficiencies.
- Ensure proper coordination between production, quality, maintenance, stores, purchase, planning, and dispatch teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem\-solving skills
- Working knowledge of production planning, maintenance coordination, and quality systems is an asset
- Experience of working with conveyor belts is a plus.
Pay: ₹40,000\.00 \- ₹80,000\.00 per month
