*Position Overview**

Autodesk is seeking a passionate and experienced Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in the architecture, design, development, and delivery of Autodesk Assistant, our next\-generation Agentic AI Orchestration Platform. In this role, you will lead a talented team of software and AI/ML engineers to build scalable, reliable, and extensible distributed systems platform capabilities that power intelligent agentic experiences, and advanced generative AI/LLM workflows.

The ideal candidate will be a strong technical leader responsible for defining and driving the platform's technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business priorities. You will champion engineering excellence, guide critical technical decisions, drive platform adoption, and ensure the successful delivery of scalable, production\-ready Agentic AI capabilities.

*Responsibilities**

Lead the technical strategy, development, and deployment of AI/ML and Agentic AI platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long\-term technology vision
Collaborate with cross\-functional teams, including Product Management, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Cloud Infrastructure, to define, prioritize, and execute the Agentic AI platform roadmap
Drive the architecture and design of scalable, reliable, secure, and high\-performance AI Agents systems, providing technical direction and guiding critical architectural and technology decisions
Own the technical execution and delivery of the platform strategy, leveraging Agile methodologies, software engineering best practices, and rigorous standards for code quality, performance, reliability, and security
Maintain a hands\-on technical leadership role by actively participating in architecture discussions, design and code reviews, technical problem\-solving, and resolution of complex engineering challenges
Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and accountability by mentoring engineers, promoting technical growth, encouraging collaboration, and empowering the team to deliver high\-quality solutions with measurable impact

*Minimum Qualifications**

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred)
10\+ years of experience of software engineering, with 4\+ years of experience as a technical lead or Software Architect
Proven experience leading and mentoring software and AI/ML platform engineering teams
Practical experience with modern AI orchestration and agentic frameworks
Experience with design, build and running scalable, high\-performance systems production applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience building and deploying AI models, for rapid AI application development, using AWS SageMaker, Bedrock or Azure Machine Learning
Experience working with complex agentic AI architectures, API ecosystems, guardrails, context management and other best of breed AI/ML offerings
Understanding of MLOps principles and practices for effectively managing and automating machine learning workflows, including model versioning, monitoring, and deployment
Expertise in CI/CD, automation tools, and practices for machine learning lifecycle management
Strong background in AI/ML with experience in deep learning, statistical modeling, and neural networks
Experience with Kanban and agile development processes and methodologies
Excellent communication and written skills
BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving project goals
