Job Description: Product Development \& Operations Executive

About the Role

We are looking for a detail\-oriented and proactive \*Product Development \& Operations Executive\* who will be responsible for coordinating product development, manufacturing, packaging procurement, quality control and vendor operations.

The person will work closely with third\-party manufacturers, packaging vendors, internal teams and testing partners to ensure that every product is developed and manufactured according to the approved quality, cost and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

1\. Vendor Coordination

\* Coordinate regularly with product manufacturers, packaging vendors, printers and other suppliers.

\* Communicate product requirements, quantities, specifications and delivery timelines clearly.

\* Follow up on quotations, samples, purchase orders, production status and dispatches.

\* Maintain healthy vendor relationships and resolve operational issues promptly.

\* Identify and evaluate new manufacturers, packaging suppliers and product\-development partners.

2\. Product Development

\* Assist in the development of new products from initial concept to commercial production.

\* Coordinate formulation trials, product samples, fragrance options, texture changes and packaging compatibility tests.

\* Maintain records of all samples, feedback, revisions and final approvals.

\* Conduct competitor and market research for new product ideas, ingredients, formats and packaging.

\* Ensure that the final manufactured product matches the approved formulation and sample.

3\. Manufacturing Coordination

\* Prepare and maintain production plans based on inventory requirements and expected sales.

\* Coordinate manufacturing timelines with third\-party manufacturing units.

\* Track raw material availability, packaging availability, production schedules and dispatch timelines.

\* Ensure that production batches are completed within the agreed timeline.

\* Coordinate with the warehouse and internal teams for the receipt of finished goods.

4\. Quality Control

\* Conduct or coordinate quality checks at the manufacturing unit during production and before dispatch.

\* Check product appearance, fragrance, texture, colour, weight, filling, sealing and packaging quality.

\* Ensure that the finished product matches the approved reference sample and specifications.

\* Report quality deviations to the manufacturer and follow up on corrective actions.

\* Maintain batch\-wise QC records, inspection reports and product approval documentation.

5\. Packaging Material Inventory

\* Maintain an updated inventory of all packaging materials, including bottles, jars, caps, pumps, sachets, labels, cartons, sleeves and shipping boxes.

\* Monitor packaging stock levels and initiate orders before materials run out.

\* Coordinate printing and procurement of packaging materials.

\* Track packaging material received, issued for production, damaged, rejected and remaining in stock.

\* Reconcile packaging material inventory with vendors, manufacturers and the warehouse.

6\. Packaging and Artwork Coordination

\* Coordinate packaging artwork development and printing with the design team and vendors.

\* Check product names, ingredients, directions, cautions, batch details, MRP, manufacturing information and statutory declarations before printing.

\* Ensure that approved colour references, dimensions, materials and print finishes are followed.

\* Maintain final approved artwork files and packaging specifications for each SKU.

\* Inspect printed packaging material for colour, alignment, readability, finishing and overall quality.

7\. Costing and Documentation

\* Collect and compare quotations from manufacturers and packaging vendors.

\* Prepare and update product\-wise costing sheets and Bills of Materials.

\* Track manufacturing costs, packaging costs, testing costs and other product\-development expenses.

\* Maintain product specifications, formulations, vendor details, purchase records and approval documents.

\* Support the accounts and operations teams with invoices, quantities and vendor reconciliations.

8\. Testing and Compliance Coordination

\* Coordinate product testing, stability testing, compatibility testing and other required quality tests.

\* Follow up with manufacturers for licenses, certificates, test reports and regulatory documents.

\* Ensure that product labels and documentation follow applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

\* Maintain organised records of product approvals, test reports, manufacturing licenses and certificates.

9\. Inventory and Product Performance

\* Monitor finished\-goods inventory and highlight products that require replenishment.

\* Coordinate production quantities based on sales trends and stock availability.

\* Track slow\-moving, damaged, expired or near\-expiry inventory.

\* Review customer complaints and returns related to product or packaging quality.

\* Share product feedback with manufacturers and coordinate improvements.

Key Skills Required

\* Strong coordination and follow\-up skills

\* Good attention to detail

\* Basic understanding of product development and manufacturing

\* Ability to manage multiple vendors and timelines

\* Comfortable working with Excel, Google Sheets and inventory trackers

\* Good written and verbal communication skills

\* Ability to inspect products and identify quality issues

\* Strong documentation and organisational skills

\* Problem\-solving and negotiation abilities

Preferred Qualifications

\* Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Cosmetics, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field.

\* Previous experience in personal care, wellness, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, FMCG or third\-party manufacturing will be preferred.

\* Familiarity with packaging materials, product costing, quality control and inventory management is an advantage.

Pay: ₹10,304\.09 \- ₹30,000\.00 per month
