Job Purpose
To plan, execute, monitor, and complete engineering and infrastructure projects within the food manufacturing plant while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, budget, and project timelines.
Key Roles \& Responsibilities
1\. Project Planning \& Execution
- Plan and execute plant expansion, modification, and improvement projects.
- Prepare project schedules, timelines, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of new equipment and utilities.
- Ensure project activities align with production and business requirements.
2\. Engineering \& Technical Support
- Review engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure proper installation of production machinery and utility systems.
- Support troubleshooting during commissioning and startup activities.
- Verify project work as per approved designs and standards.
3\. Contractor \& Vendor Management
- Supervise contractors and monitor project execution at site.
- Ensure contractor compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Verify work completion and contractor billing.
- Coordinate procurement of project materials and services.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations.
4\. Budget \& Cost Control
- Prepare project cost estimates and budgets.
- Track project expenditures and control costs.
- Monitor material consumption and resource utilization.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without affecting quality.
5\. Quality Assurance
- Ensure project execution meets engineering and food industry standards.
- Conduct inspections of civil, mechanical, electrical, and utility works.
- Verify quality of materials, workmanship, and installations.
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements for food processing areas.
6\. Safety \& Compliance
- Ensure all project activities comply with EHS standards.
- Implement permit\-to\-work systems for project jobs.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Factory Act, electrical safety, and statutory requirements.
- Promote safe work practices among contractors and project teams.
7\. Documentation \& Reporting
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, and records.
- Prepare:
- Project progress reports
- Daily/weekly status reports
- Cost tracking reports
- Commissioning reports
- Project closure reports
- Maintain as\-built drawings and project files.
8\. Utility \& Infrastructure Projects
* Manage projects related to
- Boilers and steam systems
- Refrigeration systems
- Compressed air systems
- Water treatment plants
- ETP/STP facilities
- Warehouses and storage facilities
- Ensure utility integration with production requirements.
9\. Continuous Improvement \& Plant Development
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Support energy\-saving and productivity enhancement projects.
- Participate in plant modernization and capacity expansion initiatives.
- Implement engineering best practices and innovative solutions.
