The Purchase Manager is responsible for managing procurement activities related to electrical contracting projects, including sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, cost control, and timely supply of electrical materials, equipment, and services. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering and experience in handling procurement for electrical contracting projects.
*Key Responsibilities**
Handle procurement of electrical materials, equipment, tools, and services for ongoing projects.
Source and negotiate with suppliers for cables, switchgears, conduits, panels, transformers, lighting fixtures, and other electrical items.
Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize suppliers based on technical and commercial evaluation.
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials as per project schedules.
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, stores, and accounts departments regarding material requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and avoid shortages or excess stock.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Ensure materials comply with project specifications, approved makes, and quality standards.
Track market rates and identify cost\-saving opportunities.
Prepare purchase orders and maintain procurement records and documentation.
Generate procurement reports, costing analysis, and material consumption reports for management review.
Analyze project procurement costs and provide comparative cost analysis to support budget control and project profitability.

*Qualification**
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Additional qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain is an added advantage
*Experience**
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in procurement within an electrical contracting company
Experience in handling MEP/electrical project procurement preferred
