Purchase Manager

• *Job Summary**

We are looking for a Purchase Manager to lead procurement for our engineering and project operations. You will source materials, equipment, and subcontract services at the right quality, price, and timeline, and build a dependable vendor base to support project execution.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• Plan and manage procurement of materials, consumables, equipment, tools, and services for ongoing and upcoming projects
• Float RFQs, evaluate quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate commercial terms
• Identify, develop, and empanel vendors and subcontractors; maintain an approved vendor list
• Issue purchase orders and work orders, and follow up on delivery schedules, dispatch, and site receipt
• Coordinate with project, site, engineering, and accounts teams to understand requirements and avoid material shortages
• Review BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications with engineering to ensure correct procurement
• Monitor vendor performance on quality, delivery, and pricing; resolve rejections, short supplies, and disputes
• Ensure purchase compliance: GST, statutory documents, and contract terms
• Control procurement costs through negotiation, bulk buying, and alternate sourcing
• Maintain procurement MIS, price trends, and reports for management
• Support invoice verification and payment follow\-up with the accounts team

• *Required Qualifications**

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil) or equivalent; MBA or a supply chain / materials management diploma is a plus
• 8\-10 years of purchase experience in EPC, Engineering Services, or project\-based industries
• Strong negotiation and commercial evaluation skills
• Knowledge of purchase processes, contracts, GST, and vendor management
• Working knowledge of ERP / MS Excel and procurement documentation
• Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and Gujarati (preferred)

• Experience buying for power, industrial, or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural materials, and site consumables
• Existing vendor network in the region
• Ability to handle multiple projects and urgent site requirements
