QC Engineer – Machine Shop

• *Department:** Quality Control – Machine Shop
• *Reports To:** Quality Head / Plant Head

• *Job Purpose**

To ensure CNC/VMC components meet drawings, tolerances, and customer quality requirements through inspection, CMM report verification, PPAP, and quality documentation.

• *Key Responsibilities**

• Inspect incoming materials, first\-off, in\-process, and finished machined components.
• Use vernier calipers, micrometers, bore/height gauges, dial gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret drawings, GD\&T, customer specifications, and inspection plans.
• Verify CMM reports against drawings, GD\&T, and customer requirements.
• Conduct first\-piece approval and periodic CNC/VMC inspection.
• Prepare PPAP, dimensional reports, control plans, FMEA inputs, process flow documents, and required quality records.
• Prepare/verify sample inspection reports, material test reports, and customer\-specific documents as applicable.
• Handle and store instruments properly; monitor calibration status and records.
• Raise non\-conformance reports and coordinate corrective actions with Production.
• Support root\-cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and rejection reduction.
• Maintain traceability, inspection records, and document revision control.
• Support NPD trials, sample inspection, PPAP submission, and customer audits.

Maintain independent inspection and product\-release authority.

• *Qualifications \& Experience**

• *Education:** Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• *Experience:** 3–5 years in quality control and inspection of CNC/VMC machined components.
• *Key Skills:** GD\&T, CMM report verification, PPAP, dimensional inspection, instrument handling, calibration, root\-cause analysis.
