Job Purpose
To lead and manage the passenger vehicle sales function of the dealership, ensuring achievement of sales targets, profitability objectives, customer satisfaction standards, and OEM compliance requirements. The Sales Manager is responsible for driving retail, corporate, exchange, and finance\-linked sales while developing a high\-performing sales team.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Performance \& Revenue Growth
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual vehicle sales targets set by the dealership and OEM.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to maximize showroom walk\-ins, inquiries, test drives, and conversions.
- Drive retail, corporate, institutional, and fleet sales business.
- Monitor sales funnel performance and conversion ratios.
- Ensure achievement of profitability and market share objectives.
Team Leadership \& Development
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
- Conduct daily sales reviews, performance tracking, and coaching sessions.
- Recruit, train, and develop sales consultants and team leaders.
- Foster a performance\-driven and customer\-centric culture.
Customer Relationship Management
- Ensure superior customer experience throughout the sales journey.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
- Build and maintain long\-term relationships with key customers and corporate accounts.
Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities and market segments.
- Develop local sales campaigns, roadshows, exhibitions, and promotional activities.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, government organizations, and fleet customers.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to generate quality leads.
Finance \& Insurance (F\&I) Sales
- Drive penetration of vehicle financing, insurance, extended warranties, and value\-added products.
- Coordinate with banks, NBFCs, and insurance partners to maximize business opportunities.
- Monitor F\&I performance against dealership targets.
Inventory \& Delivery Management
- Monitor vehicle inventory levels and stock availability.
- Coordinate with OEMs and inventory teams for optimal stock planning.
- Ensure timely and accurate vehicle delivery processes.
- Minimize inventory aging and stock holding costs.
Process Compliance \& Reporting
- Ensure adherence to dealership SOPs and OEM sales processes.
- Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and MIS reports.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback.
- Prepare periodic business reviews and sales performance reports.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA (Marketing/Finance) preferred.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in automobile sales.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial role within a passenger vehicle dealership.
- Experience with leading automotive brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Kia, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, MG, Skoda, or similar OEMs preferred.
