Position: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance \& Accounts
Reporting To: Management / Finance Head
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail\-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, taxation, statutory compliances, financial reporting, and internal controls across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, payroll management, financial analysis, and supporting management in strategic financial decision\-making.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Accounting \& Financial Management
- Manage and supervise accounting activities including sales, purchase, journal, and bank entries.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and transactions.
- Perform monthly ledger scrutiny, reconciliations, and account settlements.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Process monthly payroll, salary disbursements, and salary slips.
- Reconcile sales and purchase records with books and vendor/client statements.
- Calculate and verify employee performance incentives.
- Prepare financial and operational reports as required by management.
2\. ROC \& Corporate Compliance
- Handle documentation related to appointment and resignation of directors.
- Coordinate and provide data for ROC annual filings and corporate compliances.
- Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
3\. Taxation \& Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and review TDS, GST, Professional Tax, and other statutory workings.
- Ensure timely filing and payment of all statutory dues.
- Reconcile TDS, GST, PT, and related statutory liabilities with returns.
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants for monthly, quarterly, and annual compliances.
- Assist in handling tax notices, assessments, and departmental queries.
- Review income tax computations and support filing processes.
- Maintain compliance documentation and records.
4\. Internal Controls \& Process Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs for finance and accounting functions.
- Monitor compliance adherence through trackers and review mechanisms.
- Audit purchase orders, sales transactions, and financial processes.
- Maintain compliance calendars and payment trackers.
- Ensure process discipline and strengthen internal financial controls.
5\. Financial Analysis \& Forecasting
- Analyze revenue, profitability, and financial performance across business entities.
- Prepare financial reports and management dashboards.
- Forecast monthly GST liabilities and cash flow requirements.
- Provide insights to support business and financial decision\-making.
6\. Team Leadership \& Coordination
- Guide and support junior accounting staff in day\-to\-day operations.
- Review work performed by team members and provide necessary training.
- Resolve operational issues and ensure smooth departmental functioning.
- Coordinate with internal departments, auditors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
7\. Administrative \& Business Support
- Draft official financial correspondence, agreements, and documentation.
- Manage tender\-related financial processes and submissions.
- Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, and government authorities.
- Prepare loan documentation and funding\-related applications.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Handle vendor registrations, MSME claims, and statutory certifications.
- Represent the organization in finance\-related meetings and discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- CA Inter / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
- 5\+ years of experience in accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC compliances, and payroll processing.
- Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
