Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced **Senior Accountant** to manage end\-to\-end accounting operations, manufacturing cost accounting, statutory compliance, taxation, financial reporting, and audit coordination within a defence manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, direct taxation, inventory accounting, ERP systems, and manufacturing finance while ensuring compliance with statutory and defence\-related financial requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting

  • Maintain General Ledger, Trial Balance, and Books of Accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Bank Reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital.

Manufacturing \& Cost Accounting

  • Monitor BOM costing, inventory valuation, WIP accounting, and finished goods costing.
  • Perform cost variance analysis and manufacturing overhead allocation.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation and coordinate physical stock verification.
  • Support product costing and pricing analysis.

Statutory Compliance \& Taxation

  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Companies Act requirements.
  • File GST Returns (GSTR\-1, 3B, 9 \& 9C) and perform ITC reconciliations.
  • Handle TDS/TCS deductions, payments, returns, and Form 16/16A issuance.
  • Support Income Tax assessments and statutory filings.

Defence Contract Accounting

  • Maintain financial records for defence and government contracts.
  • Track milestone\-based billing, customer advances, retention amounts, and bank guarantees.
  • Ensure compliance with DAP/DPP guidelines wherever applicable.

Audit \& Financial Controls

  • Coordinate Statutory, Internal, Cost, GST, and Tax Audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support budget preparation and MIS reporting.

Required QualificationsEducation

  • B.Com (Mandatory)
  • CA Inter / CMA Inter (Preferred)
  • Qualified CA/CMA (Added Advantage)

Experience

  • 5–6 years of accounting experience in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or defence industries.

Technical Skills

  • SAP (FICO/MM), Oracle, Tally Prime, or equivalent ERP.
  • Advanced MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, basic Macros).
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, MSME Act, and Ind AS/IGAAP.
