In this position you will be part of the Service Market Logistics solution center in the Core Platform Area Supply Chain and Purchasing.

We are now looking for a Software Engineer JAVA for the SML Supply Central \& Customs Department

As a Software Engineer you will be part of the Stable Team responsible for the IT Deliveries towards the GLOPPS Application that supports various Capabilities related to Service Parts for the various Business Areas in Volvo.The team is in midst of an exciting Modernization Journey from the Legacy Platform and would be happy to have a passionate Java colleague to contribute and be part of this Journey.The team includes roles like Software Engineer, Digital Product Owner, Scrum Master,Solution Engineer and Solution Architects.

Role mission \& context

As a Software Engineer you will be applying the principles of engineering to software development. You need to perform analysis and modifying existing software. Also you will design, code and test different application modules to meet the business requirements.

The role is to work during the Indian Business hours in hybrid working approach, with 3 days/week from Volvo’s office in CV Raman Nagar, Bangalore. On occasions like PI planning, there will be a need to work during EU Business hours to collaborate with the Global team.

Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong Knowledge and Experience as a Application Developer in the below

Java 11/17/21, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JDBC, Java Collections, Streams

Working Experience with unit testing using JUnit 5 and Mockito.

Experience with Azure Cloud and Deployment (e.g., Azure Storage fundamentals ,Azure App Service, Azure networking basics, Azure Monitor).

Good understanding as well as hands on Experience of REST API’s.

Working knowledge of Git, Maven.

Working knowledge with Postgres and Database Concepts.

Good to have working knowledge with GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code and prompt Engineering.

Understanding of Agile methodologies.

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Excellent Attention to detail and Quality.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with using AI to generate unit tests, integration tests, API tests, UI automation scripts and regression test scenarios.

Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, LLM APIs, RAG, MCP and AI evaluation practices.

Familiarity with Git, pull requests, CI/CD pipelines and automated quality checks to validate AI\-assisted changes.

Familiarity and Interest in using AI to accelerate migration from legacy Struts/JSP/Servlet applications to modern Spring MVC, Thymeleaf and HTMX implementations.

Experience Required

6 to 10 years with hands on experience as Software Engineer in Mandatory Skillsets.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
