As a **Kong API, Web API \& Full Stack Engineer**, you will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting secure, scalable web applications, APIs, microservices, and API gateway solutions. The role combines hands\-on full\-stack development with Kong API Gateway configuration, API lifecycle management, system integration, and production support. You will collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps engineers, security teams, and application support teams to deliver reliable enterprise solutions across cloud and on\-premises environments.

• *Key Responsibilities**
• -----------------------

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support responsive enterprise web applications.Build and maintain RESTful Web APIs, backend services, and microservices.Configure and manage Kong Gateway components, including services, routes, consumers, upstreams, targets, and plugins.Implement API authentication and authorization using OAuth 2\.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API keys, and mutual TLS.Configure API policies for rate limiting, traffic control, request and response transformation, logging, caching, and security.Develop application user interfaces using React, Angular, or similar modern frontend frameworks.Develop backend services using Java Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js, or Python.Create and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and reusable API documentation.Integrate web applications and APIs with databases, enterprise systems, cloud services, and third\-party platforms.Troubleshoot API failures, gateway routing issues, authentication errors, application defects, data problems, and performance bottlenecks.Analyze application logs, traces, and metrics to perform root\-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.Develop automated unit, integration, API, and regression tests.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application, API, and Kong configuration deployments.Support application releases, API onboarding, environment promotion, rollback, and post\-deployment validation.Implement secure coding, secrets management, certificate management, and vulnerability\-remediation practices.Monitor API availability, latency, error rates, traffic patterns, and application health using enterprise observability tools.Provide L2/L3 production support and manage incidents, service requests, problems, and changes in accordance with ITIL practices.Maintain technical designs, API specifications, deployment procedures, support runbooks, and knowledge articles.Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, release planning, operational reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.3\+ years of experience in Appian Development, Application Support, or BPM Operations.Strong understanding of business process automation and workflow management.Experience supporting business\-critical applications in production environments.Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem\-solving skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.Experience working in global AMS/RunOps and support organizations.Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps delivery models.Appian Certified Associate Developer, Senior Developer, or Lead Developer certification is preferred.Experience supporting Healthcare, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Financial Services, or regulated industry applications is desirable.Exposure to AI\-powered workflow automation, RPA, GenAI integrations, and process intelligence solutions is an added advantage.Knowledge of compliance, audit, and governance requirements for enterprise applications is preferred.
