Job Purpose A vacancy has become available for an enthusiastic and self\-motivated individual to join our Modernisation team. A Technical Release Manager is a hands\-on, delivery\-focused individual responsible for shaping the release strategy of our software applications on cloud. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in project management, stakeholder management and ability to understand and navigate technical dependencies. Ideal candidate should be a technical and functional expert with a comprehensive understanding of release management, technical program dependencies, and the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business languages. The Release Manager will be accountable for shaping and executing the release strategy, contributing to the overall success of our technology initiatives. Candidate should also have experience in Cloud technologies, API Management, fintech integration, CRM ideally operating in a regulated environment. The Technical Release manager will be a part of the Engineering Team and will work closely with multiple teams within OSB, such as the Cloud, security, Data, application feature teams and other dependent teams to ensure comprehensive coverage of dependency management for our applications release process. Technical release manager will own the process end to end ensuring alignment to the groups policies and standards to meet IT and Programme governance. 2\. Core Responsibilities * Own and lead the end\-to\-end release strategy and execution for the UK Lending Lab, ensuring predictable, secure, and high\-quality delivery of customer\-facing and regulatory features. * Act as the single point of accountability for release governance, coordinating across Product, Engineering, Cloud, Security, Data, Testing, and external partners to enable seamless feature releases across environments. * Partner with Delivery Leads, Product Owners, and Engineering Managers to proactively manage cross\-team dependencies, sequencing, and release readiness across multiple lending value streams. * Enable the overall delivery function by embedding release management practices into Agile delivery, ensuring alignment between sprint execution, technical readiness, and business outcomes. * Chair and govern Technical Change Advisory Board (TCAB) for Lending, ensuring risk\-based decision\-making, clear audit trails, and compliance with UK regulatory and group IT standards. * Define and continuously evolve release management frameworks, standards, and controls, balancing speed, stability, and regulatory compliance in a cloud\-native environment. * Establish and run a data\-driven release cadence (monthly/bi\-weekly as required), including go/no\-go criteria, risk assessments, rollback strategies, and stakeholder sign\-offs. * Drive release assurance by validating non\-functional readiness (security, performance, resilience, observability) prior to production deployment. * Lead collaboration with third\-party vendors and fintech partners, ensuring alignment to OSB/Group release practices and tooling. * Champion release automation and DevOps maturity, working with platform and engineering teams to reduce manual interventions and improve deployment reliability. * Produce clear release metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting covering release health, failure trends, lead time, and continuous improvement actions. * Support regulatory audits, production incident reviews, and post\-release retrospectives, embedding learnings back into delivery and release practices 3\. Experience Requirements * Overall, 11\+ years of experience, 5\+ years in a Tech release management role, designing and maintaining release process. * Experience working with Cloud technologies, Fintech integrations, dependency management, documentation. * Excellent documentation and communication skills 4\. Skill and Competency Requirements **The following skills are highly desirable:** * 11\+ years of IT experience, with 5–7\+ years in Technical Release / Environment / Delivery Governance roles, operating at programme or portfolio scale. * Proven experience leading complex, multi\-team release landscapes , ideally supporting Lending or regulated customer products in the UK. * Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and SAFe\-style delivery models, with the ability to integrate release management seamlessly into modern product delivery. * Good to have \- Hands\-on experience with cloud\-native release management, preferably on Microsoft Azure (Azure DevOps/Pipelines, AKS, Helm, Key Vault, APM), Jira\\Confluence. * Deep knowledge of deployment strategies such as blue\-green, canary, feature toggles, and rollback patterns in high\-availability environments. * Strong dependency and risk management skills across application, infrastructure, data, security, and third\-party integrations. * Ability to operate confidently at Lead level, influencing senior stakeholders, resolving delivery conflicts, and enabling decision\-making across labs and domains. * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical release risks into business and regulatory impact. * Experience defining and tracking release KPIs and DORA\-style metrics to drive continuous improvement. * Strong governance mindset with practical experience supporting audit, compliance, and regulatory change without slowing delivery. * Comfortable working across UK–India delivery models, coordinating time zones, and enabling consistent delivery outcomes.
