Develops software including operating systems, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet\-related tools. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others. ### **What you will do :** ### **System‑Level Technical Leadership:** * Own and drive **system‑level verification strategy** for HPE\-Juniper Networks’ high‑performance IP routing platforms, ensuring end‑to‑end product quality across software, hardware, and integrated systems. * Architect, develop, and document **comprehensive functional, scale, stress, and performance test frameworks**, aligned with real‑world service provider and cloud customer deployments. * Partner deeply with **software, hardware, and architecture teams** to influence design decisions early in the development lifecycle, ensuring testability, scalability, and robustness of system designs. * Leverage **Gen‑AI–assisted analysis** to review architecture documents, specifications, and protocol behaviors, accelerating identification of test gaps, corner cases, and validation risks. * Translate complex **customer use cases and field‑observed issues** into targeted validation scenarios, proactively identifying gaps using a combination of domain expertise and Gen‑AI‑driven insights. * Lead complex **customer escalations**, performing deep system debugging, root‑cause analysis, and driving issues to resolution across multiple engineering teams, utilizing Gen‑AI tools to accelerate log analysis, pattern detection, and hypothesis generation. ### **Test Automation, Methodologies, and Quality Ownership:** * Define and implement **advanced test automation strategies**, ensuring high coverage, repeatability, and scalability for system‑level testing; personally contribute critical automation where needed. * Apply **Gen‑AI techniques to accelerate test development**, including intelligent test case generation, automation code scaffolding, failure triage, and regression analysis. * Create **directed and exploratory tests** based on detailed examination of system software architecture, hardware schematics, and protocol specifications. * Establish, evolve, and evangelize **verification tools, frameworks, and best practices**, integrating Gen‑AI capabilities where appropriate to improve developer productivity and test effectiveness. * Ensure conformance to **product requirements, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks**, identifying risks early and driving mitigation plans supported by data‑driven and Gen‑AI‑assisted analysis. ### **Cross‑Functional Influence and Organizational Impact:** * Act as a **technical authority and go‑to expert** in routing systems verification, providing guidance and architectural perspective to cross‑organization programs and initiatives. * Lead cross‑functional efforts involving **engineering, product management, architecture, and field teams**, aligning technical execution with business and customer priorities. * Review and assess **system designs, test plans, and execution outcomes**, providing clear, actionable feedback to improve reliability, performance, and scalability. * Drive **innovation and adoption of new technologies**, including responsible and secure use of Gen‑AI tools, to enhance system validation, automation efficiency, and overall engineering velocity. ### **Technical Thought Leadership and Mentorship:** * Mentor and guide **senior and junior engineers**, improving overall team technical depth, system thinking, and execution excellence, including effective and responsible use of Gen‑AI tools—without direct people management responsibility. * Author and contribute to **technical white papers, patents, and Internet Drafts (IDFs)**, including areas where Gen‑AI augments networking validation, testing methodologies, or system observability. * Set a high standard for **technical rigor, ownership, and accountability**, serving as a role model for Staff‑level engineering excellence and modern engineering practices. **What you will bring** : **Education and Experience Required:** * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. * Typically 10\-14 years experience. **Knowledge and Skills:** * Strong, hands\-on proficiency with core networking protocols, including **BGP, OSPF, IS\-IS, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPNs, Segment Routing (SR)**, covering configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. * Practical experience using **Gen‑AI tools**, with the ability to identify and articulate their benefits in improving productivity, automation, and problem\-solving. * Experience with **core and edge HPE\-Juniper routers** is highly desirable. * Proven expertise in **Python programming** and **UNIX/Linux environments** is mandatory. * Exceptional **problem‑solving and analytical skills**, with a demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex customer and network issues. * Contributions such as **white papers, technical blogs, Internet Drafts (IDFs), or patents** related to routing protocols are a strong plus. * Demonstrated mastery of **commercial networking test equipment** (e.g., **Spirent, Ixia router testers**), including automating test cases using their libraries, building network simulation scenarios, creating test topologies to validate protocol scalability, and assessing router performance. * Experience in **designing and integrating distributed software systems** running across multiple platforms into a cohesive overall architecture. * Strong background in **software testing methodologies**, including test plan development and execution, debugging, and the creation of testing scripts and tools. * Excellent **written and verbal communication skills**; fluency in English and the local language is required.
