Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled **Senior Solar Project Engineer – Design \& Execution** to manage the end\-to\-end delivery of solar EPC projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for solar system design, engineering, project planning, site execution, commissioning, and ensuring successful project completion within defined timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
This role requires a strong understanding of solar PV systems, hands\-on project execution experience, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities1\. Solar Design \& Engineering
- Design solar PV systems (rooftop and ground\-mounted) based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings including:
- General Arrangement (GA) Layouts
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Cable Routing and Electrical Drawings
- Perform system sizing, inverter selection, and string configuration.
- Conduct energy yield analysis and system optimization using PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar software.
- Prepare technical proposals, design calculations, BOM/BOQ, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, regulations, and client requirements.
2\. Project Execution \& Site Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute solar EPC projects from site survey through commissioning.
- Supervise installation activities including:
- Solar modules
- Mounting structures
- Inverters
- HT/LT electrical systems
- Ensure execution is carried out as per approved designs, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely completion within budget.
3\. Testing, Commissioning \& Grid Connectivity
- Lead testing and commissioning activities for solar power plants.
- Ensure successful system integration, performance validation, and grid synchronization.
- Coordinate with DISCOMs and regulatory authorities for approvals, inspections, and net\-metering processes.
- Verify compliance with electrical standards and statutory requirements.
4\. Stakeholder Coordination \& Reporting
- Collaborate closely with design, procurement, liaisoning, and project teams.
- Prepare and submit project progress reports, site updates, and execution dashboards.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, project risks, and site challenges proactively.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical support when required.
5\. Quality, Safety \& Compliance
- Implement quality assurance and quality control practices throughout project execution.
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards and site safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Maintain project documentation, testing records, and commissioning reports.
Required Skills \& Competencies
- Strong knowledge of solar PV system design and EPC project execution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and MS Office Suite.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, HT/LT installations, and grid connectivity.
- Project planning, scheduling, and site management capabilities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision\-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in rooftop and ground\-mounted solar power projects.
- Hands\-on experience in solar plant installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Familiarity with local DISCOM regulations, approvals, and net\-metering procedures.
- Experience working in Solar EPC organizations.
