Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 2\+ years of experience to support New Product Development (NPD) activities in mould\-based plastic components. The role involves design coordination, engineering drawing interpretation, mould development support, and cross\-functional coordination with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with customers and mould design vendors for finalization of design and specifications.
- Review mould, jig, and fixture designs and suggest improvements based on manufacturability and requirements.
- Support end\-to\-end NPD activities from concept to production implementation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD\&T, and customer specifications.
- Coordinate design changes and ensure timely implementation in production.
- Support APQP activities including PFD, FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plan preparation.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Purchase teams during development stages.
- Support mould trials, validations, and product approval activities.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and support IATF 16949:2016 requirements.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CATIA (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks added advantage).
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD\&T.
- Knowledge of mould design, jigs, and fixtures.
- Understanding of injection moulding process.
- Exposure to APQP, PFD, FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plan.
- Basic knowledge of polymer materials and their properties.
- Good MS Excel and documentation skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR
- B.E. Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 2\+ years of experience in NPD, Product Design, Tool Design, or Injection Moulding industry.
Salary
- **CTC:** ₹3\.2 LPA – ₹4\.2 LPA
