Sr. Software Engineer – (Ruby on Rails)

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer – Full Stack who thrives in an AI\-first, agent\-driven software engineering environment. Our team uses AI coding agents, IDE\-integrated Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, and agentic workflows to design, build, test, and maintain production\-grade software. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical AI\-assisted development and takes full ownership of architecture, quality, security, and reliability. This is an opportunity to work directly with a Silicon Valley product startup building scalable SaaS products for construction technology.

• *Responsibilities**

• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and deliver full\-stack applications using Golang backend services, modern React\-based frontends, APIs, and databases; contribute to Ruby on Rails applications where needed.
• Use AI coding agents as a primary development workflow for implementation, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Use IDE\-integrated MCP servers to provide agents with relevant context and controlled access to engineering tools and systems.
• Decompose requirements into agent\-executable tasks with clear context, constraints, acceptance criteria, and verification steps.
• Critically review AI\-generated code for correctness, maintainability, architecture, security, and performance; independently resolve failures.
• Design RESTful integrations, microservices, distributed systems, and event\-driven or serverless components.
• Build and operate cloud\-native services on AWS using appropriate services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, RDS, and container platforms.
• Contribute to Docker\-based deployment, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure practices, production troubleshooting, and observability.
• Participate in design reviews, mentor engineers, and continuously improve agent\-driven development standards and delivery quality.

• *Required Skills \& Experience**
• *Must Have — Software Engineering**
• Strong hands\-on Golang experience and solid full\-stack development skills with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS (or comparable modern frontend frameworks).
• Strong command of OOP, design patterns, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, microservices, and system design trade\-offs.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD (such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI), debugging, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, collaborate across functions, and mentor junior engineers.

Must Have — AI\-Driven Development \& Agentic Engineering

• Practical, regular use of AI coding agents (for example, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to deliver working software.
• Experience with IDE\-integrated MCP servers or comparable agent\-tool integrations for accessing relevant development context and tools.
• Ability to create effective agent instructions, manage context, set constraints, and break complex work into verifiable tasks.
• Experience with agentic planning, implementation, iterative refinement, test generation, and validation workflows.
• Ability to inspect, debug, test, and secure AI\-generated code rather than accepting outputs without independent verification.
• Strong engineering judgment and ownership of production outcomes regardless of how the code was produced.

• *Good to Have**
• Hands\-on Ruby on Rails and/or Node.js development experience.
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and RDS; exposure to Kubernetes or Amazon EKS.
• Experience configuring or building custom MCP servers, reusable agent instructions, and automated agent workflows.
• Familiarity with multi\-agent orchestration and integrations with GitHub, Jira, documentation, or other developer systems.
• Knowledge of agent tool permissions, data protection, secure execution boundaries, and AI\-assisted engineering productivity measurement.
• Exposure to Elasticsearch, analytics platforms, or AI/ML\-enabled applications; familiarity with Kanban or other Agile delivery practices.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
