ABOUT THE ROLE
The Team Lead – Community is the operational heartbeat of Student Tribe's community function. You will directly manage the Community team along with a rotating cohort of 5–7 interns. You are the person who ensures community strategies actually happen, teams are aligned, students remain deeply engaged, and campus communities stay active and healthy.
This is not a role for someone who just manages. It is for someone who builds systems, drives alignment within the community function, and can hold the Centre while the organization grows outward.
Strategy \& Planning
Define and drive quarterly OKRs for the Community function, ensuring clear alignment with organizational priorities.
Develop and refine the community growth framework, including campus activation strategies, onboarding processes, engagement benchmarks, and progression criteria.
Identify and implement scalable engagement models and operational improvements that enable growth without proportional resource expansion.
Establish a structured weekly review system to monitor key metrics such as community growth, engagement scores (NPS), and participation, for leadership visibility.
Team Leadership \& People Management
Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to ensure clarity on priorities, progress, and risks.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and development of team members; set performance expectations and conduct structured evaluations.
Oversee the community intern program end\-to\-end, including project allocation, mentorship alignment, performance tracking, and identification of high\-potential candidates for full\-time roles.
Act as the escalation point for operational challenges within the community function, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Community Health \& Growth
Define clear engagement standards to distinguish active and inactive communities, and hold the team accountable to quality metrics beyond community size.
Identify and develop student leaders within communities to build decentralized leadership and sustainable engagement models.
Translate on\-ground insights into actionable strategies for programming, event formats, and campaign ideation.
Drive campus\-level activation and student engagement, building a deep and lasting presence across colleges.
WHO YOU ARE
0–4 years of experience in community building, campus outreach, team leading, or operations, ideally in a startup or high\-growth environment.
Proven track record of managing teams and holding them to clear, measurable deliverables.
Deep instinct for what motivates students — you understand campus culture, placement anxiety, club dynamics, and peer influence without needing it explained.
Data\-fluent: comfortable building trackers, reading dashboards, and making decisions based on metrics, not just instinct.
Excellent communicator, whether running a team sync or presenting outcomes to stakeholders.
Comfortable with ambiguity and fast\-changing priorities.
Willing and able to travel frequently across territories for campus visits and events.
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience working with college management teams or handling college partnerships. This includes experience in coordinating with college authorities, managing institutional collaborations, organizing on\-campus initiatives, and understanding the operational structure of academic institutions. Candidates with an existing network within colleges or experience in driving student engagement at the campus level will be considered highly suitable.
