The VGL, situated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is an integrated steel plant having its own Stainless\-Steel Plant, Rolling Mill, Sponge Iron Unit, Ferro Alloy unit and Captive Power Plant (Thermal, Wind and Solar).
1\+ years of leadership role, preferably in Turbine \& Compressors work areas
Responsible for leading the daily operations activities and reporting of the Turbines, compressors, condensers, and header work areas and supporting the DGM O\&M as and how required.
The individual must ensure smooth Turbine \& Compressor operations and must have a deep understanding of power plant operations and maintenance
Execute the scheduled daily production plan taking periodic maintenance activities into account to ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and profitability
Manage and lead a team of managers, engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure all activities are performed safely and effectively
Oversee the implementation of systems and processes to monitor, record and control the consumption of raw materials and other resources.
Conduct daily visits across the Turbine \& Compressors work areas to observe, validate, and rectify process deviances and abnormalities.
Receive maintenance requests from Turbine \& Compressors work areas and share the same with the relevant maintenance teams.
Work closely with the Operation Excellence team as well as the PM\-CBM team to ensure that all Turbine \& Compressors maintenance activities are being completed as per SOPs and on time to reduce downtime and breakdown events.
Ensure that all Turbine \& Compressors operations and maintenance activities adhere to departmental plan and budgets.
Oversee the implementation of periodic skills and knowledge development training programs across the Turbine \& Compressors team and provide relevant support as required
Ensure all documentation, records and data sets for the daily Turbine \& Compressors operations and maintenance activities of power plant are maintained on internal systems as per departmental SOPs and procedures.
Support the Head Power Plant in preparing, reporting, and presenting the same data sets at the regular DRM, CRM, MAT and SCM events.
Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all employees are trained in safety protocols and that all equipment is properly maintained.
Ensure that the team of engineers and technicians are trained and equipped to carry out their duties effectively
Perform any additional tasks as and how required by the senior and top management.
Functional Skills \-· Deep understanding of power plant operations and maintenance, including knowledge of boilers, turbines, generators, and other related equipment
