The Business Head – Electrical \& Instrumentation will be responsible for driving business growth, project execution excellence, profitability, and strategic leadership across Electrical and Instrumentation projects. The role requires extensive experience in substation projects, power distribution systems, industrial electrification, instrumentation, automation, EPC contracts, and project management.
The incumbent will lead business development, tendering, project delivery, client relationship management, and team development while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- *Business Development \& Strategy**
- Develop and execute business growth strategies for Electrical \& Instrumentation projects.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in power, industrial, infrastructure, oil \& gas, renewable energy, and utility sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, government agencies, and utilities.
- Lead proposal development, tender participation, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions.
- Establish annual business plans, revenue targets, and profitability objectives.
- Provide overall leadership for E\&I project execution from concept to commissioning.
- Oversee execution of:
- HV/MV/LV Substations
- Switchyards
- Transmission \& Distribution Systems
- Industrial Electrification Projects
- Instrumentation \& Control Systems
- SCADA, PLC, and Automation Systems
- Renewable Energy Electrical Infrastructure
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements.
- Drive effective project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- *Commercial \& Financial Management**
- Manage project P\&L and business unit profitability.
- Monitor project costs, cash flow, billing, collections, and margins.
- Review commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support procurement and vendor management initiatives to optimize costs.
- *Technical \& Operational Excellence**
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, electrical codes, and statutory regulations.
- Guide engineering teams on design optimization and value engineering initiatives.
- Implement best practices in project management, quality assurance, and safety management.
- Drive digitalization and process improvement initiatives across the business.
- Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, project management, and site execution personnel.
- Develop leadership succession plans and talent development programs.
- Foster a high\-performance, safety\-focused, and customer\-centric culture.
- *Stakeholder Management**
- Act as the primary interface for key clients and strategic partners.
- Represent the organization during technical reviews, client meetings, and industry forums.
- Maintain strong relationships with utility companies, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)
- Master's Degree in Power Systems, Project Management, or Business Administration (Preferred)
- 15–25 years of experience in Electrical \& Instrumentation projects.
- Minimum 5–10 years in senior leadership or business management roles.
- Proven experience in managing substation projects (11kV to 400kV or above), industrial electrical systems, and instrumentation projects.
