Job Purpose
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall strategic leadership, business growth, operational excellence, and profitability of the Commercial Vehicle dealership group. The CEO oversees Sales, Service, Spare Parts, Finance, Customer Experience, Used Vehicle Operations, and Branch Networks while ensuring sustainable growth, strong OEM partnerships, customer retention, and industry\-leading performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership \& Business Growth
- Define and execute the organization's long\-term vision, growth strategy, and business objectives.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, market leadership, and shareholder value.
- Identify opportunities for network expansion, acquisitions, new business ventures, and market penetration.
- Lead annual strategic planning, budgeting, and business forecasting processes.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments in the commercial vehicle sector.
Profit \& Loss (P\&L) Management
- Own and manage the overall P\&L for the dealership group.
- Ensure achievement of revenue, EBITDA, profitability, and return\-on\-investment targets.
- Drive cost optimization, productivity improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee working capital management, inventory control, and cash flow performance.
- Review financial performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Commercial Vehicle Sales Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for new vehicle sales, fleet sales, institutional business, and key account management.
- Build strong relationships with logistics companies, fleet operators, transporters, infrastructure firms, government agencies, and corporate customers.
- Drive market share growth and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Monitor sales performance and ensure achievement of OEM and business targets.
After\-Sales \& Service Excellence
- Ensure superior service operations and customer retention across all locations.
- Drive growth in workshop revenue, spare parts sales, annual maintenance contracts (AMC), service contracts, and roadside assistance programs.
- Establish customer\-centric service standards and improve vehicle uptime for customers.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, service quality, and operational efficiency.
OEM \& Strategic Partnership Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM leadership and regional management teams.
- Ensure compliance with OEM business standards, facility requirements, and operational guidelines.
- Lead OEM reviews, business planning discussions, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Secure support for network growth, infrastructure development, and business expansion.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead and develop senior management teams across Sales, Service, Parts, Finance, HR, Operations, and Customer Experience.
- Build a high\-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and customer success.
- Drive leadership development, succession planning, and talent retention strategies.
- Promote employee engagement, diversity, and organizational effectiveness.
Governance, Compliance \& Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with statutory, financial, labor, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish strong governance, audit, and internal control frameworks.
- Oversee risk management, legal compliance, and ethical business practices.
- Ensure timely resolution of audit observations and compliance issues.
Digital Transformation \& Operational Excellence
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across dealership operations.
- Drive adoption of CRM, Dealer Management Systems (DMS), analytics, automation, and business intelligence tools.
- Implement best practices in process improvement, productivity enhancement, and customer experience management.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with shareholders, OEMs, financial institutions, vendors, customers, and government authorities.
- Represent the organization at industry forums, trade associations, and OEM leadership events.
- Build strategic alliances that support long\-term business growth.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
Experience
- 20\+ years of experience in commercial vehicle dealerships, automotive retail, transportation, logistics, automotive manufacturing, or related sectors.
- Minimum 10 years in senior leadership roles with full business and P\&L responsibility.
- Proven track record in managing multi\-location operations and large\-scale business growth.
- Experience working with commercial vehicle OEMs such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Eicher Trucks and Buses, BharatBenz, Mahindra Truck and Bus, VE Commercial Vehicles, or similar OEM ecosystems preferred.
