The Foreman is responsible for supervising daily production activities in the furniture manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are achieved. The role involves managing shop\-floor personnel, coordinating workflow, monitoring productivity, and maintaining efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Roles \& Responsibilities1\. Production Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities in woodworking, machining, assembly, finishing, and packaging sections.
- Ensure production schedules are executed according to approved plans.
- Monitor workflow and allocate manpower effectively to meet production targets.
- Ensure timely completion of customer orders and project requirements.
2\. Workforce Management
- Lead, guide, and supervise carpenters, machine operators, assemblers, painters, helpers, and other production staff.
- Assign duties and monitor employee performance.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Train new employees on work methods, quality standards, and safety practices.
3\. Quality Control
- Ensure furniture products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections during production and assembly stages.
- Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with quality assurance personnel to minimize defects and rework.
4\. Production Planning \& Coordination
- Coordinate with production managers, supervisors, and planning teams regarding daily production requirements.
- Ensure availability of materials, tools, machinery, and manpower before starting production.
- Monitor work progress and report production status regularly.
- Assist in production scheduling and resource planning.
5\. Safety \& Compliance
- Enforce workplace health and safety regulations.
- Ensure employees use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct safety briefings and promote safe working practices.
- Report and investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
6\. Machinery \& Equipment Monitoring
- Monitor the operation of woodworking machines, CNC machines, edge banders, drilling machines, sanding equipment, and finishing systems.
- Ensure proper machine utilization and operational efficiency.
- Report equipment breakdowns and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Promote preventive maintenance practices.
7\. Inventory \& Material Control
- Monitor consumption of raw materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, and finishing materials.
- Minimize material wastage and optimize resource utilization.
- Coordinate with stores and procurement departments for material availability.
- Verify material issuance and usage records.
8\. Productivity Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor labor productivity and machine utilization.
- Reduce downtime, scrap, and rework through effective supervision.
9\. Documentation \& Reporting
- Maintain daily production records and workforce attendance.
- Prepare reports on production output, quality issues, machine downtime, and material usage.
- Communicate operational challenges and recommendations to management.
- Ensure proper documentation of completed work orders.
10\. Housekeeping \& Workplace Organization
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area.
- Ensure proper storage of materials, tools, and finished products.
- Implement and sustain 5S practices and workplace discipline.
- Promote an organized and efficient work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- 5–10 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, modular furniture, or interior fit\-out production.
- Experience supervising carpentry, assembly, polishing, finishing, or modular furniture production teams.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
Pay: ₹30,000\.00 \- ₹35,000\.00 per month
