Junior Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functionality, regression, smoke, and sanity testing for web and mobile applications.

• Execute API testing and validate request/response data.

• Identify, log, track, and verify defects throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Understand business requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases accordingly.

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

• Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and testing activities.

• Ensure applications meet quality standards before release.

• Perform retesting and verification of bug fixes.

• Prepare testing reports and provide regular status updates to the team.

• Continuously learn and adopt new testing tools, technologies, and best practices.

Required Skills \& Competencies

Testing Skills

• Hands\-on experience in Web, Mobile, and API Testing.

• Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect management processes.

• Ability to create and execute test cases effectively.

• Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.

Analytical \& Technical Skills

• Strong query understanding and analytical thinking capabilities.

• Ability to identify edge cases and troubleshoot issues effectively.

• Basic understanding of databases and API concepts will be an advantage.

• Ability to work with changing requirements and prioritize testing activities.

Communication Skills

• Confident verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to communicate defects, observations, and testing results clearly.

• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 1\+ year of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.

• Exposure to test management and defect tracking tools is an added advantage.
