Urgently Hiring Plant Head for Frozen Vegetables Manufacturing Industry

Industry Preference: Frozen Vegetables / IQF Foods / Food Processing / FMCG / Agro Processing
Reporting To: Director / VP
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the overall operations of the frozen vegetables manufacturing plant, ensuring achievement of production targets, quality standards, food safety compliance, cost control, operational efficiency, and team development while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Roles \& Responsibilities
1\. Plant Operations Management
- Oversee end\-to\-end plant operations including production, quality, maintenance, utilities, warehouse, dispatch, and administration.
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Monitor plant performance and optimize operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce losses.
- Ensure uninterrupted plant operations and resource availability.
2\. Production Planning \& Control
- Review production plans and align manufacturing activities with customer demand.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
- Monitor production yields, efficiency, and wastage levels.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams for raw material availability.
- Ensure timely completion of production schedules.
3\. Food Safety \& Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality management systems.
- Maintain standards related to:
- HACCP
- GMP
- GHP
- FSSAI
- BRCGS
- ISO 22000
- Ensure product quality meets customer and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits and ensure closure of observations.
- Promote a strong food safety culture across the plant.
4\. Frozen Vegetable Processing Management
* Monitor critical processes including
- Raw vegetable receiving and inspection
- Washing and sorting
- Cutting and grading
- Blanching
- IQF (Individual Quick Freezing)
- Packaging
- Frozen storage
- Ensure product integrity and cold chain maintenance.
- Optimize freezing efficiency and product yield.
5\. Cost Control \& Budget Management
- Prepare and manage annual operational budgets.
- Control manufacturing costs, utility expenses, and wastage.
- Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and plant productivity.
- Identify cost\-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Monitor inventory and working capital utilization.
6\. Maintenance \& Utility Management
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are implemented.
- Monitor performance of:
- IQF freezers
- Refrigeration systems
- Boilers
- Compressors
- Utilities and infrastructure
- Minimize equipment downtime and breakdowns.
- Support plant expansion and capital projects.
7\. Team Leadership \& People Management
- Lead production, quality, engineering, warehouse, and support teams.
- Set departmental KPIs and performance objectives.
- Conduct performance reviews and team development initiatives.
- Build a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure proper manpower planning and succession development.
8\. Safety, Health \& Environment (EHS)
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Promote a zero\-accident culture across the plant.
- Monitor emergency preparedness and fire safety systems.
- Ensure proper waste management and environmental compliance.
- Conduct regular safety reviews and risk assessments.
9\. Regulatory \& Statutory Compliance
* Ensure compliance with

- Pollution Control Board requirements
- Food Safety Regulations
- Customer and export compliance standards
- Coordinate with government authorities and auditors.
- Ensure timely renewal of licenses, permits, and certifications.
10\. Customer \& Business Excellence
- Support customer audits and visits.
- Ensure on\-time order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Drive operational excellence and plant performance improvements.
- Support new product development and process innovation initiatives.

- Ability to drive operational excellence, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
