• *Job Description – Production Manager (Mohali)**

Role overview

We are hiring a Production Manager to run our bath fittings manufacturing plant in Mohali end to end, from production planning to dispatch\-ready output.

Position \- Production Manager

Industry \- Bath fittings / sanitaryware manufacturing

Location \- Mohali, Punjab (on\-site)

Experience \- 8–10 years in manufacturing, with core experience in the bath fittings industry

Qualification \- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering graduate)

Employment type \- Full\-time

Reports to \- Plant Head / Director – Operations

The role owns full plant operations: production planning, shop\-floor execution, team management, quality, cost and daily MIS reporting to management.

Key responsibilities

• *Plant operations**

• Manage complete plant operations across all shops — machining, forging/casting, polishing, plating (chrome/PVD), assembly, testing and packing.
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly production targets are met on time, in full and at the required quality.
• Coordinate with stores, purchase, quality, maintenance, and dispatch for smooth material and order flow.

• *Planning to production**

• Convert sales orders and forecasts into production plans and daily shop\-floor schedules.
• Plan raw material (brass, components, consumables) requirements with purchase and stores; control WIP and finished\-goods inventory.
• Track capacity and machine/manpower utilisation; remove bottlenecks and balance lines.
• Plan new product introductions and trial runs with the design/R\&D team.

• *Team handling**

• Lead supervisors, line in\-charges, operators and contract workforce across shifts.
• Allocate manpower, plan shifts, manage attendance, discipline and productivity.
• Train and develop the team on processes, quality standards and safety.

• *MIS and reporting**

• Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly MIS: production vs plan, efficiency, OEE, rejection/rework, downtime, manpower and cost.
• Build and maintain production trackers and reports in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, dashboards).
• Use ERP data for planning, stock and production entries; flag variances to management with corrective actions.

• *Quality, cost and improvement**

• Work with QA to hold leakage, finish and plating quality standards; drive root\-cause analysis and CAPA on rejections.
• Reduce rejection, rework, scrap and per\-unit conversion cost.
• Drive 5S, Kaizen, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with maintenance on preventive maintenance to cut breakdowns.

• *Safety and compliance**

• Ensure EHS norms, safe working practices and statutory compliance in the plant.
• Support ISO and customer/BIS audits as required.

Requirements

• *Must have**

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or a graduate degree in another engineering discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing, with mandatory experience in the bath fittings / sanitaryware industry.
• Proven experience handling full plant operations, from production planning to final output.
• Strong team handling experience, leading supervisors and large shop\-floor teams across shifts.
• Hands\-on MIS reporting experience and advanced MS Excel skills.

• *Skills**

• Production planning and control (PPC), capacity and material planning.
• Working knowledge of brass fittings processes: machining (CNC/VMC), forging, polishing, plating, assembly and testing.
• Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and quality tools (RCA, 7 QC tools).
• ERP usage for production and inventory.
• Clear communication, decision\-making and problem\-solving under target pressure.

• *Preferred**

• Experience in a mid\-to\-large bath fittings brand or OEM plant.
• Exposure to ISO 9001 / IATF systems and BIS certification.
• Experience setting up new lines or scaling plant capacity.
