Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Database Engineer.
- *In this role, you will:**
- Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
- Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
- Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
- Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
- Design and certify next generation database technologies
- Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
- Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
- Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- *Required Qualifications:**
- 4\+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- *Desired Qualifications:**
- Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (11g, 12c, 19c or higher)
- Hands\-on expertise in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM/OMS)
- Hands\-on expertise in Exadata systems
- Experience with RMAN backups and recovery
- Experience with ZDLRA (preferred)
- Experience in database patching and upgrades
- Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience in High Availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard)
- Proven experience in production support environments
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
- Experience handling mission\-critical systems with strict SLAs
- Strong problem\-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure in high\-demand environments
- Effective communication and cross\-team collaboration skills
- Proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Manage day\-to\-day platform operations including monitoring, alerts, incident resolution, service requests, and change management activities
- Ensure high availability and performance of Oracle databases
- Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM/OMS), including agent lifecycle management and health monitoring
- Perform patch management and upgrades for OEM/OMS
- Manage certificate lifecycle within OEM/OMS
- Oversee database performance, availability, and tuning
- Execute backup and recovery strategies
- Ensure data integrity and reliability across environments
- Monitor backup health and integrity using ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance)
- Validate recovery readiness and disaster recovery capabilities
- Perform regular backup verification and ensure compliance activities
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams for Exadata patching cycles
- Work on Exadata performance optimization
